Art Journaling With My Son

People often ask me when do I have the time to make art. The answer is I don't! But I make it happen. Sometimes life gets so busy I can't paint for days or weeks. But when I'm in a creative flow, you'll find me painting in my studio from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There's something about having long stretches of uninterrupted time. Of course, I can't do this every night. I'm a mom and want to be fully present with lots of energy for my two-year-old son.

This is how art journaling has saved the day. At home, Stephen and I do art together as much as we can. Side-by-side, he watches me and I watch him. So far the set up is pretty cool: a booster seat, lots of snacks, classical music, twinkling lights and access to ALL of mommy's art supplies.

Enjoy some of Stephen's masterpieces! Seriously, I'm a purist---none of these were touched or enhanced by me. This is 100% Stephen's art using oil pastels, pen and watercolors. Amazing!

Thank you for visiting!

Also, thanks to my AMAZING husband who loves me to the core and takes wonderful pictures!

Your son is adorable and I absolutely love his artwork. You should scan them and use them for backgrounds and collages as well as framing the originals.
