Some Proud Moments

Some proud moments to share:

1. Two weeks ago, we visited England so that Stephen can meet his grandparents for the first time. I gave my mother-in-law this watercolor painting of her holding her precious dachshunds. I was so proud of myself to work in the traditional English watercolor method--by not using any white paint (other than utilizing the bare white of the paper) or black paint (because frankly, I forgot to pack it in my suitcase)!

To achieve black fur, I kept mixing the colors on my palette until I got it right: ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, viridian green, permanent rose, permanent green, scarlet red, and a touch of quinacridone violet.

Jim and I were so proud of Stephen! Our little guy was a complete joy during the entire journey. Flight attendants wanted to keep him!

 p. s. Oh, and I might have bought a few things :)

Lots of arts & craft books, stickers, stamps, doodling & drawing inspiration, craft tools, and an awesome toy rocket for me my kid!

2. Stephen started "pre-preschool". It's really a 50 minute class for 2-year olds that focuses on playful group activities, following directions, and easing them into important transitions. Starting this week, all the parents are asked to leave their kids and hang out in the building.

I have no worries about Stephen, especially during snack time!

Hmmm, where's his other shoe?

3. I am doing lots and lots of art with Stephen. This is probably the most special moments we have together.

Our morning ritual includes my side/his side art journaling. We love painting while we're in our pajamas!

I can't believe how grown up your little boy is already! He's certainly taking after you with his creativity.:) The puppy painting is lovely, I hope you had a nice time here in England!
