Let It Snow

Jim and I just finished helping Stephen open all his presents. Santa was definitely here last night. All the cookies left for him are gone and there's an empty bottle of wine!
All is well.
All is quiet.

May your moments of the day be just as magical.

Holiday Season Kick-off

We kicked off the holiday season by going to the Chicago Botanic Garden where my husband and I took lots of photographs & enjoyed Stephen having fun. There were winter wonderland displays and illuminated trees. A bit cold outside to start, but hey, we burned-off some post thanksgiving calories :). Enjoy!

It's a lot warmer inside the green house!

Jellyfishes To the Rescue!

When a painting goes sour, seriously sour, I try to make the most of it. One such painting wasn't going very well. I had to make some drastic changes by throwing on more gesso and glazing it with dark indigo paint.

I then added ripped paper, iridescent mica, splattered white gouache, and glammed it up with glitter pen!

Can you believe this started out as a tranquil barnyard scene? LOL. Jellyfishes to the rescue!

Here's Stephen and daddy enjoying a bit of marine-life themselves.

What a stunning world we live in. There's an "ocean" of inspiration out there AND many ways to cover-up mistakes! Thank you Mother Nature :).

Happy Halloween, Sushi-style!

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to credit and thank Carolyn Caffelle and her appearance on the Martha Stewart Show for the inspiration (you can download instructions).

Stephen is turning 15 months old next week. He's almost walking...taking small steps here and there. But for now, he'd rather speed-crawl as an adorable shrimp :).

I love my sushi family!

Have a happy & safe Halloween!
