I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday.
This Christmas was full of love--moments that just melted our hearts for my husband and I. Our three-year-old was so excited to meet Santa. Stephen knew exactly what to ask for and Santa delivered.

On the creative front, it's been truly wonderful to work with Cloth Paper Scissors/Interweave these past several weeks. An exciting art lesson series will be announced very soon! I hope that my approach to painting in watercolor will be valuable, educational, and fun.
The downloadable lessons also include an instruction video, and the kind folks at Cloth Paper Scissors/Interweave are aiming to make this colorful adventure an affordable one! Stay tuned, friends.

On a very sad note, my mother-in-law passed away last weekend.
The only words I can say is:
I will miss you, Sheila.
It was an honor to know you.
Thank you for letting me paint your dachshunds.
We love you very much.
Title: "Sunlight and Poppies for Sheila"
Mixed media on 8.5" x 11.5 watercolor paper with sewn transparent collage.
I finished this journal page on Christmas Eve. Art has always helped me to "think" with my heart. It is a portal for me to lean into and accept what's called life--from joyful to difficult experiences. Working with my hands, or the simple act of creating, helps me navigate with (not run away from) my feelings. And then I realize, things will be ok. There is beauty and hope to believe in.
Blessings.
