I'm taking Junelle's online Wild Art Summer Wildflower Workshop right now. She is so inspiring and sweet. With her gentle video instructions, I am reminded that EVERYTHING goes when it comes to art journaling! Many class projects vary in size and gessoed substrate but I like to stick to my 11" x 14" watercolor paper, quarter-sheet format.
Well, hello there Stephen! Thankfully my palette was dry when I took this photo :).
I always try to take fun concepts and make them my own. It's extremely important to me to honor my style. For instance, I glued on black buttons for the camper wheels...
...and collaged an old map (top square) to make a distressed, painted background. Sewing on a tent made out of a torn textbook page made me happy, while sticking on a googly-eyed owl made my son happy.
So there you have it. This was so much fun to create!
Hope you're enjoying your summer as well!
